Have you ever Googled “I need a copywriter”?
If you’ve found this page organically, chances are that’s exactly what you’ve just done.
And if you’ve Googled that and found this, you’re probably struggling to write fun, human and engaging copy for your website, products, blogs, ads or something else.
But taking that leap into hiring a copywriter?
Well, you still might not be sure.
Why you need a copywriter
You might have Googled ”I need a copywriter” but not be 100% sure working one is for you. If that’s the case, let’s look at a few reasons why you might need one:
One. I’ve got a gazillion things to do (and copywriting isn’t one of them)
Running a business, managing clients, juggling emails and handling all the daily gubbins you have to put up with means your to-do list is probably longer than the streak of piss trailing from a blocked urinal at a music festival.
And if writing isn’t your thing?
Well, it’s another list item you’ve got to tick off, whether it’s doing it yourself or handing it to an employee who says that they’re “Good with words“.
Chances are they’re not that good at writing sales copy.
Hiring someone who knows what they’re doing will save you from wasting time working on your employee’s copy because they’ve not captured your voice or written it in an engaging way.
Two. I need a copywriter cos not just anything will do
You’ll know if you’ve handed it to a colleague who’s “Good with words” that they’re probably not as good as they think.
You need more than copy that sounds good. It has to poke your audience’s pain points, capture their attention, make them feel something and encourage them they need to do something about it that second.
No one’s going to care about or buy your product or service if they don’t feel why they need it to change their life.
Three. You’re completely bamboozled by SEO
Top-notch SEO copywriting is an absolute game-changer. It can get you work with dream clients and you can work on projects you never thought you’d stand the chance of getting.
A copywriter who knows their SEO can get your website ranking for keyphrases you really want to rank for.
Trust me, your audience will find you more easily.
I’ve got form in getting clients not only to my own site but to my clients’ websites too.

Four. You want to sound like you know what you’re talking about
How do you make sure your audience knows you’re the expert?
Well, a copywriter knows how to position your brand as an authority in your field. From website copy and blog posts to marketing ads and social media, the right writer makes sure your audience knows you’re the only one they should get on the blower to.
Five. You need a fresh pair of eyes
Everybody is too close to their businesses to see what they’re trying to do and say.
Even me!
That’s why I’ll sometimes get another copywriter to proof something I’ve written for myself and feel like I’m going round in circles.
A copywriter brings a fresh perspective and doesn’t have the baggage of knowing every little detail. A fresh pair of eyes can help simplify complicated messaging, make it clear and tweak it so that it talks right to your audience.
Six. You’re tired of writing
Honestly, writing is bloody boring for most people.
Hiring a copywriter means you can offload this task, saving your energy and freeing up time for other priorities. Plus, they’ll make your copy kick arse—something you’ll definitely appreciate once you see the results. For more about this, check out mt post, When should I start working with a website copywriter?
