7 great ways to repurpose your blog posts

Has it ever crossed your mind to repurpose your blog posts?

For many business owners, the answer is: Yes!

And that’s cool.

You don’t have to leave because there might be something useful for you here too. But if your answer was no, chances are you’re sitting on a goldmine of stuff your customers across a variety of platforms are crying out for.

7 ways to repurpose your blog posts

If you blog regularly, chances are you’re giving your audience lots of useful content.

But here’s the thing: not everybody wants to read your blog posts.

Shocking, right?

We consume content on a variety of platforms nowadays. And keeping up is, well, overwhelming, to say the least.

With that in mind, I’ve created a list of ways you can repurpose your blog posts. Sometimes with a simple copy and paste job, others with a little bit more work. Yes, it’s important to come up with new content regularly, but if you’re short on time, and ideas, give these a whirl:

One. Turn your blog post into a LinkedIn article

Let’s start with a copy and paste job.

really

Honestly, it’s that simple.

Yes, you might need to do a few tweaks here and there, but one of the most popular ways is to turn it into an article on LinkedIn.

Super fast and easy to do.

Two. Turn into a series of LinkedIn posts

Sticking with LinkedIn for the time being…

You can take chunks of a really informative blog post and turn it into multiple daily posts. You can turn it into an overview post of all your major points. Or focus on different sections.

It’s something I’ve done many times. One such example is from my article, How to create a homepage to improve your website traffic, where I focus on a short section of that blog post as a full LinkedIn post:

All I did was tweak the copy and give it a new call to action.

Three. Turn it into a carousel post on Instagram

Here’s where you get the chance to flex your design skills.

I took the tips from my post, How to work from home more productively, tweaked the copy to make it shorter and created a series of informational ‘carousel’ posts for Instagram.

Now I have a series of swipeable images aimed at Instagram users:

I also created an opening image with the blog post title and one at the end to push people to my website. And you can do all this on Canva, there are loads of free templates on there for you to tweak to fit your own branding.

Four. Turn it into a LinkedIn carousel

Doing this is dead easy because you can just take your Instagram carousel post and save it as a PDF and upload it into your LinkedIn post (the icon in the grey circle below):

Five. Turn it into an infographic

Infographics are ideal for Pinterest, Instagram/Stories and ads.

Why?

Because they’re short and informative, and if you can get your message across in bitesize chunks, your audience will thank you for it.

Here’s a dead quick example:

Again, you can create these on Canva.

Six. Turn it into a video

I’ve recently bitten the bullet and started doing more videos on Instagram and TikTok.

Yes, it’s scary, but it’s a great way to repurpose written content into verbal.

You might not be able to read your blog post word for word because that might sound a little weird. But by taking the gist of your article and turning it into an informative video series, you can keep viewers coming back for more hints and tips in your next instalment.

How-to posts, for example, make great videos, because you can take people through the process step-by-step.

Pop it on your website, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook – the possibilities are endless.

Seven. Use it in a podcast

If you have a podcast, or you’re thinking about starting one but don’t know what to talk about – turn to your articles!

Yep, once again, there are loads of topics and ideas you can plunder.

Now you’ll never feel embarrassed about getting to your third show and running out of things to talk about.

Ready to repurpose your blog posts?

By finding new ways to repurpose your blog posts, you’ll reach wider audiences. Sure, to you it might be old content, but it’s not old to someone who has never seen it.

So, don’t just let your content stagnate on your blog page.

Give it a new lease of life and get it in front of the millions of people who have yet to see it.

You can do it yourself or you can speak to a copywriter who can repurpose them for you.

Until next time,

Matt
