How my Sales Page led to an increase in sales by a bonkers amount!The client
Nikki Pilkington is an SEO genius, and although her Non-Wanky SEO Course Sales Page was getting sign ups, she knew it could do better.
The problem
Nikki was so busy writing her SEO course that she had to outsource the copywriting for her sales page. The issue was that it was written by a generalist copywriter who didn’t capture Nikki’s chatty, sweary voice.
It:
- Was too long (around 1700-words)
- Didn’t mention what was involved in each module
- Included information the reader didn’t need to know
- Had a boring Call to Action
It got some sales, but there was a complete disconnect between Nikki’s online presence, her course and the accompanying videos.
What I did
Well, I did everything with the copy the original version wasn’t.
I:
- Reduced the wordcount to around 700-words
- Included a step-by-step module guide
- Cut out the snooze-worthily long About sections
- Improved the messaging and CTA
- Nailed Nikki’s proper tone of voice
And as for the results?
Well, that has a section all of its own further down the page.
The result
The new page copy resultsed in a 350% increase in sales for Nikki’s course.
Yep, that’s right.
